Volunteer Spotlight: Ling Lin, AB ‘12

Ling Lin graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy in 2012. Ling is working with HACE's Climate Cohort Founders and finds it a fulfilling and practical way to apply what she has learned about climate in school and from reading books, along with her background in consumer tech. She enjoys learning about the problems the members of the cohort are solving, meeting other climate tech investors and experts, and making the connections that result in helpful partnerships for both sides.

Born in China, Ling moved to the US when she was 2 years old and grew up in the densely populated areas of Boston's Chinatown where even a small patch of grass and a few trees were rare. One of her first high school jobs was with the Student Conservation Association at the Boston Harbor Islands, where she was exposed to the mental and physical benefits that nature could bring and learned about the rich history of the islands. From there, she became a park ranger for the National Park Service and Massachusetts. Her passion is to make a significant and measurable positive impact on the water, air, and land on this beautiful Earth.

She envisions HACE becoming the go to place for informational know-how and support about how to start a climate adaptation or mitigation company for Harvard alumni and students. If you are a climate tech investor, Ling would like to talk to you! Her team is inviting Harvard-affiliated investors to meet with climate tech startups that are participating in the inaugural Climate Entrepreneurs Circle led by the Harvard i-lab and HACE. You will have the opportunity to mentor or invest in startups focused on solving some of the biggest climate challenges we face in our lifetime. If you are an individual or institutional investor focused on seed and series A startups, or you are a non-profit donor, please fill out this form and she will be in touch with more information.
